Tues June 4. [4 June 1907] Worked all day digging out 7. R
[Ramsay] had 15 men in the morning at the trench and got no results
so he sent them down to me but I had too many and sent some away
after lunch. In the morning appeared Mr Robinson, Hilprecht's son in
law, a charming young American of 19. We sat and talked while the
men had their half hour off at 10. No 7 proves very confusing and
difficult and I am at a loss to know what to make of it. The walls end in
nothing or go off at impossible angles. They are also very badly built.
We worked on till 5 by which time I had got as much out of it as I could
get. Mr Robinson and Louis came back at dinner time with a vulture's
egg.
