Wed. 5. [5 April 1899] Out early to the Acropolis by the theatre of Dionysus. Stayed there all the morning. After lunch up Lycabetus calling on Mrs Hogarth on the way. Lovely view, Athens [Athinai] and the sea in front. Pentelikon [Pendelikon] and Hymettus [Imittos] to the left, Parnes [Parnis] to the right. Down[?] and to the Street of Tombs, very exquisite steles. All the 3 Hogarths came to dinner. Mr Bell came in afterwards.
