Tues. 4. [4 April 1899] Reached Patras [Patrai] at 2 AM. up at 8 and on shore. Drove round and saw a charming Theatre; lunch and at 12 to Athens [Athinai]. Exquisite line along the Gulf of Corinth [Korinthiakos, Kolpos], glimpses of Parnassus [Parnassos]. Saw Aquia directly we got over the isthmus and Salamis. Passed by Megara. Arrived at Athens at 7 in the dark.
