Thurs May 5 [i.e. 4 May 1911] At 5.30 Temp 57, Bar 27.1. I sent off the
caravan and went myself round the N wall of the town photographing
inscrips. I got off at 6.40 and took a road close under the hills. At 8
Serab; at 8.15 between Kurdi and Zeir At 9.45 Alzan, at 10.20 Hussein
Keui. At 10.35 the caravan reached it; we had joined them, they came
by a lower road. Guizel Dere 11.10 Areh 11.35-12.5 lunching and the
caravan caught us up. At 12.35 Sheikh Dardan and at 1.15 Sofian.
The country all rolling, low hills and shallow valleys, covered with
corn.
