Description

Kali Temple - of Bengali structure - dedicated to Kali the black goddess and a form of Shakti. According to legend, after the death of Sati (Shiva's wife) she was cut into pieces and part of her body fell here, marking the spot as a pitha (pilgrimage site) for worshippers of the female principle of divinity - Shakti.
