95 Sloane Street Jan 3 Dearest Father. I send you on a separate paper the list of electric lights for my 2 rooms. I think it is perfectly clear. I have had a very pleasant afternoon. I lunched with Diana and then went to see Eugénie whom I think I have almost persuaded to join me in Asia Minor in the Spring! Maurice Baring came in before I left, straight from Manchuria. He came home through Russia where he has very many friends and he says there is going to be a revolution - agrarian outrages are beginning, castles burning, and all the artisans are on the side of the student class. (Here came in Mr Landon and then I had to go and see Aunt Bessie so I must finish in a hurry). I had Sir Alfred Lyall to tea and a delightful talk about Seleucids and now I'm going to dine with Agnes Goldmann.
I do hope you are happy. Will you ask Elsa to let me know what she wants from Squadrilli - I forgot to ask her definitely. Ever your affectionate daughter Gertrude
