Wed. Red Barns, Coatham, Redcar. Dearest Father. Hugo and I are established and I've interviewed the good Miss Rutherford and feel as if I had been back for weeks. Tavish is enchanted and goes about perpetually wagging his tail. He's very fat. On the other hand my dog is a walking skeleton and is far from well. I'm going to have a long talk with Elliot about him. He's drefful [sic] thin. I met Mr Dorman at York and he was delighted to hear such good news of you. We're so comfy, but we long for your return. Tavish is sitting on his hind legs asking for his biscuit! Ever your very affectionate daughter Gertrude]
