Friday 90 Sloane Street. Dearest Mother. Papa has just arrived and told us all your doings. What a successful time you have had! And how well you have transacted my business! I dined with Caroline last night. This morning I skated - Elsa had a very heavy cold and stayed in bed, but she is better this evening. There were lots of little friends at Prince's and it was great fun. Tell Moll I began to learn Mohawks - awfully swell! I had a lesson from Mr D.R. [Denison Ross] and lunched with the Leo Maxses which was extremely pleasant. There was an interesting man called Thompson there, a war correspondent.
Burn the enclosed. I have refused to dine with Frollock en tête à tête nor do I propose to delight him with my RaBellaisian conversation!

I have just written an article on Japanese English with copious illustrations which I am sending to Mr Spender - I think it's rather funny! Ever your affectionate daughter Gertrude
