York. Monday Dearest Mother. Here we are and prospering extremely. We have just had an excellent lunch and Hugo, who is quite the Reise[?] Bruder, is busy registering the luggage. After all we found when we had finished lunch that we had only 3/4 of an hour more to wait, so we have not been admiring the beauties of York. At Darlington we met Will Pease who travelled to York with us and entertained us very much by stories of his adventures. He was going down to Hull to meet 26 heads! and with them proceed to London to interview Ward about mounting them.
I've just seen our cousins, so I suppose Auntie t...... are in the offing. Yes here is Aunt F. [Florence] and Aunt M. [Maisie] in decent blue. Ever your affectionate niece (see what it's come to! daughter I mean) Gertrude
