Wed. 90 Sloane Street. Dearest Mother. Lizzie seems perfectly well so I decide to send her. She has no pain and it seems quite absurd that she should not go. So all is for the best!
I was much interested by Papa's letter and long to hear more about the interview with Dercambourg. How exciting! Moll and I went to Lady Digby's last night and had quite an agreeable party - Pollocks (not Frollock!) Ilberts, Verneys, Spring Rices (whom I like very much.) Moll and I were glad that the blight which attended our joint parties seems to have been removed!

Today Frollock comes at 6 and I have tea with Violet Cust who is going to show me Athens [Athinai] photographs.

The Guides Joannes have arrived and Ambrose has sent me a selection of architecture books, bless him. I think I agree about the Dalmation coast. Oh for the yacht!

If Papa is agreeable I vote we spend a peaceful eveing tomorrow and have a good talk - otherwise we might go to the Manoeuvres of Jane if he hasn't seen it. But I wd as soon stay at home and I shd think it wd be better for him. Thanks so much for the enclosed. Send them back and I'll send them to M. de B. [de Billy] Ever your particularly affectionate daughter Gertrude
