We had a Kitson youth in one of our seats, rather nice, a half brother of Sir James. Maurice has asked him to come and stay with us from the 8th to the 10th and he has accepted. Emily came to tea. I was glad to see her again. She wants me to go to them on the 20th of January for a dance at their house. I said I would write to you. May I go? I should rather like to and Maurice is delighted at the idea. Maurice wants those gloves of his which you sent to be cleaned. Will you post them to me, if they have arrived and I will have them aired and mended for him. Aunty Kate's cold is very bad. She has been in bed all day, poor dear. Horace and I are quite happy. We read all the morning, Maurice came to lunch and we three went into Leeds and have just returned. Tonight Uncle Tom, Horace and I are going to a party at the Talbots which may be amusing. By the bye, I suppose you are going to ask the Marshalls over for our party. Hadn't you better write to them. We are so delighted about Hester! Why won't she come?
