Alderley Park, Chelford, Cheshire. Saturday Dearest Mother. I think I may just catch a London post. The card boxes have arrived and are most splendid - thank you a thousand times. Shan't I be proud when I invite people to play Bridge! Uncle Lyulph is suffering from bruises and scratches but is in the highest of spirits. Aunt Maisie I think was much more affected by his accident than he. She ran after him in alarm, and fell down, bruising her knee and is rather sorry for herself in consequence.
Blanche and Eric are here with Elizabeth and today 1000 Liberals are coming to a fête. It's drizzling but I think clearing. Heaven send it's fine.

Aunt Maisie was talking about Sybil's Medea - I wish I had seen her act. But anyhow I'm glad I heard her play. She is wonderfully gifted isn't she.

I've an invitation from Ja'far to dine on Thursday night, which I can fortunately do. Father's out I think that evening. Ever dearest your very loving daughter Gertrude

I may mention that I often reflect what an angel of Bellovedness you are.
