95 Sloane Street Monday Dearest Mother I have noted the Rounton dates. No telegram from you about the dinner but Sir Herbert arrives tomorrow so I can probably catch him if needed. No news yet of the Coxes.
Maurice looks extremely well and is very cheerful. We dined together on Saturday - he arrived very late - and on Sunday he played golf with Oliver while I motored out to lunch with the Reggie Talbots. Sir Reggie is a pathetic figure, quite deaf and very shadowy. She is still enchanting and their relations to one another most beautiful. It's a lovely house and garden. Hugh Gaisford and his dull wife motored back with me.

I went to tea with Sophie - what a delightful place and how can they pine for .....! But they do.

We had a large family party to dinner - Aunt F. [Florence[?]], Oliver and the Henleys, and the Goodenoughs appeared at 12 this morning and stayed to lunch with M. - Father and I being engaged to lunch with Lady Robson to meet Ronald Storrs and bride.

It's a horrid wet day - what a climate!

Father has a touch of rheumatism and I don't wonder. He is going to have a electric bath which Parky says will do him good.

What luck you had the one fine day for the Field Day! Ever your very affectionate daughter Gertrude
