[13 August 1921] Baghdad Aug 13 My dearest Mother. I am sending this by air mail. Would you be very kind and send it to Blackwood? I should like him if he could, to get it in soon, as I want people to know something of what is happening here. I do not wish to sign with my own name as I'm a Govt official, but Sir Percy has approved and I send this via the Colonial Office. Will you please be a dear and correct the proofs? Your very affectionate daughter Gertrude
