April 6. Red Barns Coatham, Redcar. Dearest Mother. You have not sent me a cheque for the books, will you send me one please. I will post you the Jules Verne tomorrow, we have it in English.
It was delicious at Hutton yesterday. I lunched there and came away by the 4 train. This morning the babes have been rolling easter eggs with great delight. I hope they won't be ill for they seem to have eaten a good many chocolates and hard boiled eggs! Hugo's pigs were an immense success.

Talking of pigs, there is no more of Hogg - isn't that a disappointment. I gave Punch to Mary to post to you and can't think why she did not. I will ask about it. You never sent me the Queen - and me in the throes of choosing summer dresses! Ever your very affectionate daughter Gertrude.

Don't bother to send me the Saturday, I don't care to see it.
