Boulogne March 22 1915 Dearest Mother. I have agreed to come to London - vide the enclosed. Unless we get the central office put straight we might as well stop. I don't like it much and I fear it will mean a dead heave of work. I shall be over on Thursday or Friday - I have to finish some things here. Will you tell Marie if she is still in London to stay, and if she has gone to Rounton to come back. Don't let anyone know I'm coming. I shall have no time and I don't want to be bothered with people. Your affectionate daughter Gertrude
Lady Stafford's letter was the last straw!
