95 Sloane Street Monday Dearest Mother. I felt so bad today when I got up that I sent for Hedley who said I had probably had a touch of bronchitis and that's what made me feel such a beast. He advised me to stay in today and tomorrow so I telephoned to Pauling and put off my dinner party tomorrow. It's sickening but after that I hope I shall be all right. He said I need not go to bed and that I was on the mend and he is coming to see me tomorrow.
Mr Burton is coming to tea, dull young man. Your affectionate daughter Gertrude
