95 Sloane Street Nov 3 Dearest Mother. Though it is very late I must write you a line to tell you how extremely successful the meeting was. All the speeches admirable and Father's one of the best. He was most attentively listened to and I am sure he made an impression. Lord James was excellent, Lord Balfour very good and all went admirably. Lisa came and dined with us and came back to chocolate and a talk. It was so very nice to see her. Ever your affectionate daughter Gertrude
The Digbys and the Churches are now my bosom friends.
