Sep 13th 1876 Wales My dear Mother We all went out on the water with an old man called Thomas Thomas and he was so deaf he could not hear a word that we said. Uncle Herbert brought us from Bangor some kites a telescope for Cap, a pail for me some dancing sailors and some fire balloons. Maurice tries to see the wind's eye through the wrong end of his telescope. I hope I shall soon have a letter from you. Tomorrow week we go to Leeds so I must write to Papa by Tuesdays mail next time. Uncle Herbert went away yesterday we miss him very much. I shall be so glad when you come home. We all send our love and many kisses your loving child Gertrude
