Dearest Mother. Thank-you very much for letting me stay here till the 3d. Have you got your dressing-room furnished yet? I shall be able to go on with my chaticism [sic] very easily after I have gone through it with Aunty Katie, for I am learning it very thoroughly and going through all the notes. I got my sum-book and am working at my holiday tasks every day. I do so want to pass the Cambridge Exam. The stamps Maurice sent me are very nice ones. I climb all the trees and walls I can lay hold of here. I went, for the afternoon, to Mrs Allbutt's on Wednesday. Give my love to Papa. I remain your very loving daughter Gertrude.
P.S. (à la Maurice) How are Don and Prince and Fay and Tom and the canary and Benedicts and Hugo and Elsa and Abby and Mrs. Abby and you and Papa and the rabbits.
