June 5. 95 Sloane Street. Dearest Father mine. Here are the programmes of two dinner parties of Mother's, dull I believe. She has just gone off to another at the Langs'. As for me, I have been shopping all day and I have bought some very nice things for me and ordered some very nice ones for Auntie Mary, but it's a dreadful responsability [sic] ordering things for other people - I feel very nervous about them.
I haven't seen any folk, they were all at Epsom I expect; MaBell Humphrey is here to supper which is a bore and Billy is coming in to see us this evening which is rather nice, but the person I want to see most is you.

We are so sorry for you about the reappearance of your little Frenchman.

Mother has got a ticket for the matinée for Grandpapa.

Now I think that is all except that I love you very much. Ever your very affectionate daughter Gertrude.
