Ap 7 Red Barns Coatham, Redcar. Dearest Mother. Thank you so much for your letter. I am so grateful about the wreath - you will have found that you did just what I wanted. Also you will have seen in my letter of Monday that I entirely fall in with your views about London. I hope Florence and Uncle Frank will come to us in May.
I have written to Aunt Bessie asking if I may come to London tomorrow, as otherwise I shall not see Florence, which I should much like to do. I had a letter from Billy today - I was so glad that he wrote to me.
Dearest Mother, I can't tell you how I want to be with you again. Whenever things begin to look too black, I think of you and the world is a livable [sic] place again.
Please thank Elsa for her letter. It will be very nice to see her and Moll. I am so glad you have told Amy to come all the same. She is always welcome. I have been to Clarence today - it was no good sitting and moping, so I thought I had better make myself useful if I could. Ever your affectionate daughter Gertrude
