95 Sloane Street. I saw Heinemann this morning. He was extremely pleasant. I told him a lot about the book and he expressed a desire to see it. So at any rate it will have a reading. He does not propose to publish it till the autumn. We had quite a long talk afterwards about Little E. and Gabriel B. He is an interesting little man, is Heinemann. I shall send him the poems and preface from Berlin. Mr Strong cannot come to town and has not yet finished the preface. I shall tell him to send it and his criticisms to Berlin. At 12 I met Bertha at the New Gallery. The Watts pictures are a vision.
I spent about 2 hours with Tiny whom I found engaged in washing her hair. It was very nice. Mr Jackson has been terribly ill, but is now quite convalescent. When I came in I found the Nawwab and had a long talk about Hafiz with him. He dont know much about Hafiz, he dont! However he pointed out to me one or two good poems which I had not translated.
Lisa has a box at the Avenue tonight. I shall probably go there for a little after dinner Miss Fletcher and Mrs Napier will be there. Goodbye Mother dearest. Ever your affectionate daughter Gertrude
