Saturday 95 Sloane Street. Dearest Mother. Lizzie went to Bader this morning and brought a most satisfactory report - there is nothing the matter with the eyes, what is troubling her is something with the lids for which he has given her a lotion. He said if she had put off coming to him it would have got so bad that she wd have had to rest her eyes for some time, as it is she may use them as much as she likes - which is also a comfort!
I had a charming evening with Lisa yesterday; tonight I dine with the Stanleys and go on afterwards to Lady Jeune's. We didn't go to the Pop as Elsa was staying indoors and I was fearfully rushed today. Mr Strong comes at 6 and I hadn't done enough work for him. So I went after lunch to see Spanish pictures and came in early to read the Koran. Ever your affectionate daughter Gertrude
