Red Barns Coatham, Redcar. Dearest dear Mother. I have just been arranging all the things that are to be bound. There are only 4 numbers of the Illustrated missing but a good many of Punch for 1889 - all July amongst others. Would it be any good to write to Sloane St? Don't you think I had better send the French novels? It would be very little trouble - I would send a bound copy to show them the way to do them - I suppose you would like them bound like the others in that blue paper with white backs and red laBells?
There are a good many numbers of the Musical Record missing, and so many of the Musical Times that it is certainly not worth sending unless you know where the others are.
Thank you very much for the World. I was much amused by the article on Kipling. Thank you for the £2 too - did I tell you I had got them. I have just had a telegram from Maurice saying he will arrive at 9.20 tonight! Ever your very affectionate daughter Gertrude
The babes are very happy with Dorothy Gervais.
I will send you a list of the novels if you like so that you can choose which shall be bound.
[Note on back of envelope] Round the World in 80 days has disappeared!
