Tues 17. [17 April 1900] Up at 4, a big moon - camp fires. Walked up
to our hill at dawn. Off at 6, Kr‰mer and Mahmud Effendi with us, I on
Nimr. Amusing ride home through all the pilgrims. Got in at 11.30 and
found a large and pleasant mail. Charlotte back. Washed and
changed and had a lesson at 2. Talked to Mr Dunn and walked out
with Charlotte. Ferideh at 6. Mr Tristram Ellis dining with Mr Dunn, I
went in and saw him. He subsequently turned out to be an old friend
of the Rosens. To bed at 9 and slept 11 hours.
