Sat 17. [17 March 1900] We were to have gone to Bittir but it was too
stormy. However as I was awake, I got up and began Arabic at 7.30.
A Rittmeister Schopp lunched - to my amusement I found he had
been with Dorpfeld [Dˆrpfeld] last year in Greece. I went out with
Ferideh and arranged to put my journey off a day. It cleared in the
evening.
