Fri 20. [20 May 1898] Dressed by 8.30. Read papers on deck.
Dejeuner 10, with all the Morel party. Read Paris in my room after
lunch. Played piquet with M [Maurice] after tea, dominoes,
Commandant, Dubail, Michel after dinner. 2 Englishmen and a
woman and child have come on board. We call one of the men
Bismarck - he's rather aggressive. I have made friends with a
correspondent of the Temps who has been paralyzed in Tonquin.
We held a long discussion on Webster this afternoon. Saw C.
Comorin.
