Tues May 9 [9 May 1911] Waited for the permit in the morning. It did
not come. Its a fact Amrullah Beg received a tel. on Sunday telling
him to let me into the church - if he saw no objection. He took this for a
refusal, but on Tuesday morning came a direct order from M.
Shevket. Accordingly I went to the church at 2.30. Heavy thundery
day and I had a headache all day. Worked at the church and finished
the plan by 6. It is a disappointing plan. Dined with Talausier[?].
