Thurs 12. [12 February 1903] Up early. Hot sticky morning. Packed
and shopped. We lunched with the Muirs, picking up Mr Hensman on
the way. So to the train at 4.30. Very full but we got places in a big
saloon. At Xamukdea we all got out and crossed the Ganges
[Ganga] on a steamer (8.15) dining on board. Got into the train at
Sara Ghat into a sleeping carriage with 2 other women.
