Tues 16. [16 December 1902] Muhammad failed to call us but H.
[Hugo] woke at 5.15 and with much difficulty woke me - I cdn't
remember where we were. Up and dressed and breakfasted and off
a litle before 6 in the dawn - railway time which is half an hour before
Bombay. Very comfortable journey. Found breakfast waiting at
Munnar - breakfast surprises himself[?] lunch and tea. Hottish the last
hour or two. The Ghants rather disappointing, except for the curious
broken rocks like Dolomites. Got to Bombay at 4-3.30, down to our
hotel - had tea and talked to Gen. Fagan's daughter. Then packed
and washed and dined and went early to bed very tired.
