Sun 3. [3 August 1902] Stayed in bed till 4 and wrote to Father. Then up and had tea with Mr Campbell who told me the astonishing tale of Miss Peck the American editor, the Ostler, the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. Saw my guides U. [Ulrich] looked awfully tired. So was I. Swollen feet.
