Sunday 6 [6 July 1902] which took me to Berne [Bern] where I had an
hour to reregister my luggage and lunch. Crowded train to Lucerne
[Luzern] and very hot. Had just time to catch the Meiringen train and
by dint of paying an extra 2 frcs had a 1st class compartment all to
myself. Heavenly journey over the Br¸nig line. The woods full of
spiraea. Got to Meiringen at 7. Ulrich and Heinrich Fuhrer met me.
Slept at the Bear.
