Sun {19} 20. [20 April 1902] Rode out at 7 to the Bait el Hadid on the
Nazareth road where I took Suleiman el Ruhana to show me the way
to the Mahraka. Most exquisite view over the Plain of Jezreel
[Yizre'el, 'Emeq], with Tabor [Tabor, Mt] Little Hermon [Sheikh, Jebel
esh] and Nazareth in the middle distance. Suleiman lost his donkey.
Rode on to Daliah [Daliyat el Karmil] where I saw the Oliphant people
and the Sheikh Ahmed el Hassan and so home. Great crowd of
people. A woman in my sitting room.
