Wed 17. [17 May 1899] Went to the Gr¸ne Gewˆlbe, an astounding
collection of priceless and often hideous objects. Very stuffy cold.
Sat in the Gardens above the Museum and shopped on my way
home. After lunch we drove out into the Dresdner Haide and had tea
in a little cafe in the forest. Most delicious, young beeches and
birches and pine woods. Went to Don Pasquale in the evening with
Miss Johnstone which was most enjoyable. [Cast list for Don
