Tues 16. [16 May 1899] Better. Walked on the Br¸hler Terrasse and
spent the morning in the Gallery with Morelli while Caroline copied.
After lunch we went to the Ansstellung where there is a wonderful
collection of Cranachs. Max Klinger's Christ in Olympus awfully
interesting and his statues (but ugly). His black and white work far the
best. Wonderful black and white work by Frl Wollwitz and Greiner.
Lots of Lenbachs. Had tea there. After dinner looked at Miss J.'s
photographs. Caroline read me some of Mr N.G.'s [Norman
Grosvenor[?]] diaries - wonderfully good and simple.
