Sat 13. [13 May 1899] Got to Vienna [Wien] at 7.13 and left for Prague
[Praha] at 7.30, my Father seeing me into the train. Changed at Br¸nn
[Brno], lovely piece of line. Lunched in the train and reached Prague
at 3, Blauer Stern, very comfy. Found a telegram from Papa.
Washed and walked about the lovely town till 7. Took refuge in the
Teynkirche while it streamed, the across the Karlsbr¸che to the Klein
Seite and up to the Hradsbin. The valley leading up to the monastery
full of flowering fruit trees. St John Nepomuc, his statue and the
bridges decorated and the people take their hats to it. Dined and
early to bed. Very bad cold.
