Tuesday 3. [3 August 1897] Off early - all the streets being got ready
for Faure with triumphal arches etc. Train to Bourg d'Oisan. Papa
Elsa Moll and I bicycled up - all up hill - for 16 miles. Very lovely
valley full of wild lavender. Reached the Hotel de la Meige at La
Grave by tea time. M. Juge made some difficulties about rooms, but
eventually relented.
