Thurs. 7 [7 September 1899] Woke at 9.30 and breakfasted in my
room. Down at 10.30, heavenly day. M. Piaget came and talked to
me. I had seen him 2 days before starting off with Faure. They did the
Pic des Agneaux by a new route. Discussed my last expedition with
him and by his advice resolved on the Col de la Pyramide and the
Pic des Agneaux. After lunch wrote letters, talked to Mathon and M.
Piaget, wrote diary and read outside. After dinner I talked to the good
Piaget outside.
