Fri. 14. [14 September 1894] Poor Papa left at 8.30 and we three went
off to the bath where we had a most delightful time learning to dive with
a jump. The Schwimmeister was much pleased with us. We then
went down into the town and met Mother and Hugo and shopped
photographs. After lunch I translated a verse of Digar ze shaje sarve.
Then wrote letters while the others went into Innsbr¸ck. After dinner
copied Swift for Mother and then had a discussion with her about the
pitifulness of life, but we were not speaking the same tongue, nor wd
she take the bigger view that I was trying for. However the result was
exhilarating for I went to bed and translated the whole of the rest of
Digar before I went to sleep.
