Tues. [13 February 1894] Grey morning but the sun came out on the
Lungarno which was full of people selling flowers and of a delicious
feeling of spring. We went to S Trinita where we saw a fine
Annunciation by Lorenza Monaco and half saw the Ghirlandaio
frescoes but the chapel was being repaired and the light was bad.
Then to Ognissanti which has a lovely Luca over the door and in the
Refectory a Ghirlandaio Last Supper just like the one at S Marco but
not so fine I thought though they say it is the original. Then to the
Corsini Palace where we walked through endless suites of rooms and
finally came to a most lovely Filippino Lippi Mother and Child with
angels. There is the drawing too for Rafael's Julius II and a beautiful
Botticelli. In the afternoon tried the P Vecchio which was shut and fell
back upon buying photographs at Alinari's and drinking chocolate at
Giacosa's.
