Sun. 11. [11 February 1894] Still grey. In the morning to the Pitti
together. I like Andrea's Holy Family - the face of the old woman is
lovely, and one of the Assumptions and the portrait of himself and his
wife; also Fra Bartolommeo's Mark, Deposition (with a beautiful
Magdalen in a red gown) Ascension (this particularly). And then the
Rafael and Titian portraits! and the Giorgione ........ the Lotto 3 Ages of
Man! After lunch came the Professor and gave us an interesting
lecture on the Francesca canto. I stayed in then and read and wrote.
