Thurs 4. [4 May 1893] Still cloudy and very cold. We drove however
to Ruhla, a little bath place and Sommerfrische where we lunched and
drove back a different way finally walking home by the Wartburg. The
forest quite lovely, dark dark pine trees, and beeches just in leaf, with
pale fans of green stretched out between the trunks. Walked about
Eisenach and saw Luther's house. Papa distributed bonbons to
flocks of children till he was followed like the Pied Piper.
