Thurs. 27. [27 April 1893] Went with Willie and the whole family to see the club and buy some coins. At 11 drove down to the boat. Everyone came to see us off. Left soon after 12. Rather rough. I was ill and retired early to my bed where I stayed! Disgusting place the sea. Some rather nice people on board called Bisset; they had travelled all over India and he was much oppressed by all he had seen, specially by the tombs! He kept saying "You see I've seen so much of the East - and then all the tombs in India!"
