Wed. Dec 17 [17 December 1913] Wind and rain in night and rain at
intervals all day. We could not march. 'Ali returned from Dumair
[Dumayr] not yet having found a rafiq. He went back for wood tibu
and cotton cloth for bags, Dumair being our metropolis. The tibu
arrived in the middle of the day, but the kham not till the evening with
'Ali. I made the bags after dinner. All day I alternately sat with M. al M.
[Muhammad al Ma'rawi] in the men's big tent and read my last weekly
Times. Cold and dullish.
