Wed May 10. [10 May 1911] Went back to the church and waited 21/2
hrs for the binbashi to come after which I finished my work and got in at
{12.45} 1. Grey and stormy. T. Effendi told me the distress in Diarbekr
[Diyarbakir (Amida)] {after} during the snow had been awful. The
people had lighted fires and cooked food on the frozen Tigris. Went
to see an old antiquity dealer (he is an advocate) Natik Bey and
dined with Talausier[?].
