Location

Sun.24 [24 January 1909] Grey, cold, wind and an angry sea which
got a good deal worse after lunch and by dinner time a regular gale.
We had the fiddles on by tea time. The worst night I have ever known
on the Mediterranean. I was not ill but the noise and movement kept
me sleepless - a miserable night.
