Fri 10. [10 May 1907] Off at 6.30. Grey and not very warm with
thunderstorms about, but we escaped without rain. We rode through
hills and up a lovely valley till Chairbaghy, a lovely valley full of fruit
trees. Then we crossed a small bare spur and dropped down into the
Konia [Konya (Iconium)] plain. Got in about 12.30 and found heaps of
letters. Read them and lunched, then came the Father of Donkeys. I
washed and changed and went off to see the Doughty Wylies and
then on to the Lˆytveds where I dined and stayed till near 11.
