Fri 23. [23 February 1900] High wind, weather gradually breaking.
Went out with Charlotte after lunch to the little church of St George in
the Nicophorieh and meant to go down to the Bir Ayub but the clouds
blew up and we turned home and gardened till the rain came at 5. Mr
Serapion Murad dined - a learned and much-travelled Armenian. (No
I think this was Thursday) Interesting but not sympathetic. Says Hhalil
- first the Armenians, then the devil and then the Greeks.
