Location

Tues 31 [31 May 1898] Reached Port Said at 11. M. de P. and I went
to the Austrian Lloyd office and found a boat going at 3; the Amphitrite.
Went back for M [Maurice] and transported our baggage. After which
we all had drinks at a cafÈ where the Morels and everyone else
assembled. M. de P. and M. Morinot awfully thrilled over false news
from Abyssinia [Ethiopia]. M. de P. delightfully full of energy and
resolved to show up the Abyssinian farce. Telegram to the Temps.
Touching farewell with all our friends. M. de P. saw us off but the
Salazie started first. Boat quite comfy, good night. Sick Englishman
and honey mooning couple.
